Assigning facilities to menu planning
You do not plan per facility but per menu plan group. A group bundles all facilities that receive the same plan: one plan per group.
If you serve all nurseries alike, create one group "Nurseries". If nursery and care home need separate plans, create two.
Prerequisite: an active contract
A facility can only be assigned once an active contract with it exists. Without one the application reports "no active contract with this facility".
That is deliberate: the contract holds prices and cancellation deadlines — without it, no service statement could later be derived from the plan.
Step 1 — Create the group

Open Küche and the gear icon at the bottom left.

Choose Speiseplan-Gruppen (menu plan groups).

Enter a name at the top, for example "Nurseries North", and choose + Gruppe anlegen.
| Name it after the plan, not after the customer — "Nurseries North" stays correct even when a facility joins or leaves. |
Step 2 — Assign the facility

Find the group in the list.

Open the Einrichtung / Einheit wählen… selector.

Pick the entry and confirm.
You have two options:

Whole facility — all structural units receive the same plan.

Single unit — only this group/ward. Useful when a facility has several areas with different menus, such as a crèche and an after-school club.

Every unit belongs to exactly one menu plan group. Units already assigned no longer appear in the selector — otherwise the same kitchen would receive two contradictory plans for the same table. |
Step 3 — Set the service start
While assigning, you define when delivery begins:

Today — active immediately; the unit appears in planning and production right away.

A future date — marked as "planned from …". The unit only counts towards quantities and billing from that day.
This lets you prepare a customer starting on the first of the month without them showing up in your production lists beforehand.
Step 4 — Set delivery days
Per group you set the delivery days. They override your kitchen’s default delivery days, which you maintain at the top of the same page.
Empty means the group inherits the default. So you only need to set something where a group differs — for example a facility with no Friday delivery.
Step 5 — Optional: configure a cycle
If the group’s plan should repeat, set the cycle length and cycle start. Details in Cycle and series planning.
| The cycle start also determines the weekly rhythm in the planner: an anchor on Wednesday produces planner weeks from Wednesday to Tuesday. The printed notice is unaffected and always starts on Monday. |
Alternative route via "Meine Kunden"
The same assignment works from the customer view: in Meine Kunden open the facility and assign a unit directly to a menu plan group — with the same service start.
Use this route when onboarding a new customer, and the settings route when reorganising existing groups.
